4-H Ukrainian Eggs Project
Project Information:
This project teaches 4-H’ers how to read directions, write on an egg with a kistka, a candle, and bee’s wax to create beautiful eggs with layers of wax & dye. Ukrainian pysanky eggs are decorated using a wax-resist method, resulting in unique Holiday and Easter egg designs that are deeply symbolic and meaningful.
Making pysanky eggs is a labor of love that requires patience, attention to detail, and a steady hand. It’s a beautiful and rewarding craft that all ages can enjoy.
There will be a fee for a personal tool determined on current supply costs. Each participant is asked to supply a package of napkins from the Dollar Tree. Members must be at least 8 years old and in the 3rd grade to participate in the project.
