Get your lawn & garden questions answered by our WI Master Gardener Volunteers serving at the Plant Health Advising (PHA) Offices in Kenosha, Milwaukee and Racine Counties in Wisconsin.

Services: Plant diagnosis, plant disease testing*, garden related insect identification, soil testing*, landscape & gardening info, and plant identification.

*- cost associated for testing, call/email for more info.

Call/text: 608-298-6945 ( April – October, Monday to Saturday, 10.00 A.M. – 4.00 P.M.) and leave a voice message. We will return your call as soon as possible.


Walk-in Diagnosis PHA Locations (Hours vary by location, call or email prior to visit):  We are not accepting any walk-in diagnosis at this moment. 

  • Kenosha County: Extension Kenosha County, Kenosha County Center, 19600-75th Street, Suite 2, Bristol, WI 53104
  • Milwaukee County: Boerner Botanical Garden, 9400 Boerner Drive, Hales Corners, WI 53130
  • Racine County: Racine County Ives Grove Offices 14200 Washington Avenue Sturtevant, WI 53177

Plant & insect sample Drop Box:

Plant drop box is currently located only at the Racine County’s Ives Grove office building.  Please follow these temporary procedures before dropping any plant or insect samples at the Ives Grove office building: (Drop Box info PDF

a) Email us to explain your concern ( Include digital pictures and your phone number. We will notify you and request the sample, if one is needed, to address your concern.

b) Or call us/text at 608-298-6945, and leave a message to explain your concern. We will contact you and arrange for the sample as needed.

C) Non-notified samples will not be analyzed.

D) Drop box site location & hours: Ives Grove Office Complex, Racine County Building, 14200 Washington Ave, Sturtevant, WI 53177.

Hours: Mon thru Fri (8 am – 12 pm) and (1230 pm to 430 pm)

 We are following Wisconsin Department of Health Services, UW-Madison, and federal guidelines due to the COVID-19 virus outbreak. We are working remotely.
