Consumer Gardening Programs

Many Wisconsinites engage in gardening and landscape activities to promote green spaces and better living environment. Nearly 1.5 million adults (32%) in Wisconsin have a garden and about 1.6 million adults participated in outdoor gardening in last 12 months (Sources: ESRI and GfK MRI). Vegetable gardening, trees & shrubs, flower beds, and lawn care are some common horticulture activities during growing season. Many residents engage in consumer horticulture programs & services offered through Kenosha and Racine Counties Extension that provides science based information, training and consultations to promote sustainable landscape and gardening.
